ICIS aims to develop and to improve interchange projects among different scientific areas. ICIS is an organization of researchers in the fields of biology, cognition mathematics, informatics, neurophysiologists, physics, philosophy and social life.
The very first idea of establish such a Consortium was discussed in occasion of the International workshop “Modeling and Simulation in Science” (Erice 2007) to respond to pressing concerns from an international, interdisciplinary community. The organization seeks to develop conceptual frameworks and effective intervention strategies geared to realizing international projects sponsored by International Institutions.
ICIS members will cooperate to:
- Develop interdisciplinary research of individuals and communities (joint projects) Promote yearly workshops and conferences on interdisciplinary topics
- Promote young researchers and Ph.D. students exchange among partners (see for example Marie Curie European action)
- Improve access to results of research (electronic “free” journals, reports repositories)
- Foster collaboration among personnel of organizations such as professional associations, academic and research institutions.
ICIS provides mutual consultation and cooperative action on interdisciplinary topics. Typical interdisciplinary areas include:
Shared Research Disciplines
- Astronomy and Cosmology
- Quantum Theory
- Neuroscience and Brain functio
- Cognitive science
- Bio-informatics
- Environment and Climate
- Image analysis and Synthesis
- Statistics, Pattern Recognition and Clustering
- Data Indexation and Management
- Non-linear Dynamics and Chaos theory
- High Performance Computing
- Non Conventional Computing (quantum computing, bio-computing, parallel systems)
Results of joint research will be communicated in workshops and conferences, organized in partners countries, and collected in high quality proceedings and journal special issues (electronic publications are encouraged to disseminate freely results of our researches).
